On October 31th, HIT and PAL Robotics met online for the kick-off of a new Eurostars project, called iCaLo, short for “integrated Care Logistics”. iCaLo aims at end-to-end logistic tasks in hospitals and care homes, with a complete autonomous logistical chain:

• Logistical base
• Mobile manipulator
• Elevator integration

The main goals of the project are:

• Integration of robotics in healthcare logistics
• Integration of new hardware and software components for the robot
• Learning and task adaptation of the robotic systems

The main results we aim for:

• Validated Integration of robotics in healthcare logistics (via trials)
• Tested hardware & software components
• Market traction
