HIT starts new project SACRO
On 28 and 29 April, the HIT office in Noordwijk vibrated with lively discussion on a new project: Semi Autonoumous Care Robot (SACRO) had its kick-off.
On 28 and 29 April, the HIT office in Noordwijk vibrated with lively discussion on a new project: Semi Autonoumous Care Robot (SACRO) had its kick-off.
Goal of the project is develop a new robot system which can perform everyday support activities in real-life practical care situations. SACRO will provide a robust, low cost, mature solution for the care market that is both manufacturable and functional.
The project aims to combine the manoeuvrability and reach of the ROSE platform with the dexterity and mechatronic maturity of the REEM torso.
New software development aims for semi-autonomous object recognition and learning manipulation skills in combination with key abilities of a remote human operator effectuated via a remote cockpit.
The project is supported by Eurostars Eureka, will last for 2 years and perform several rounds of real-life testing in real end-user environments.
